Melbourne Cup Winning Icon Michelle Payne – New ROI.COM.AU Ambassador

ROI.COM.AU has announced Melbourne Cup winning jockey, Michelle Payne as agency’s Ambassador for the next 12 months.

Ms Payne, the woman who famously stopped the nation in 2015, will be involved in a number of events with ROI.COM.AU designed to help women succeed in business.

Chief Executive Ewan Watt said ROI.COM.AU was delighted to partner one of Australia’s greatest sporting trailblazers.

“As the first woman to win the Cup in its 154-year history, Michelle is a perfect fit for our company. She’s courageous, dynamic and a visionary.” Mr Watt said.

“Against all the odds, Michelle defied the critics and all the best male jockeys around the globe last year. Her courage, humility and vision for women has inspired all of our team at ROI.”

“With Michelle in our team, ROI.COM.AU’s position as a growth agency and an outcomes-based business will only be further enhanced.”

True to her courageous spirit, Ms Payne last week returned to the saddle following a life-threatening race fall earlier this year.

She is bidding to defy the odds again by putting her hand up to again ride Prince Of Penzance in the 2016 Melbourne Cup.

The training strategy Michelle used in the lead-up to last year’s race included a focus on galloping, and a consistent horse-jockey relationship. It’s a winning formula Payne hopes to leverage with ROI.COM.AU.

“Having the right partnerships is the key to success in many fields, and I have no doubt working with the right team is just as important when it comes to digital marketing,” Ms Payne said.

“I’m looking forward to growing personally and professionally with ROI.COM.AU.”

From Ballarat, Payne has been a jockey since the age of 15.  The Toorak Handicap (2009) and the Thousand Guineas (2010) count as her major race victories along with the Melbourne Cup.

In other news, ROI.COM.AU has appointed its first woman in its 10-year history to its executive team with Nadine Kempton last month appointed General Manager, People and Culture.
