Bayside International English College is an international English language school based in St Kilda, Victoria.

Bayside offers high-quality English language tuition in a relaxed environment for non-native speakers with students coming from a diverse mix of European, Asian and South American backgrounds.

The family-run college is owner-operated with Stephen and Sarah Fynmore on-hand to help students daily. Their decision to pursue a dedicated SEO strategy stemmed from a desire to expand Bayside’s visibility online and attract more enquiries through the internet.

Stephen explains the steps that lead to Bayside International English College partnering with roi.com.au.

“We wanted to get more internet enquiries and feature highly on Google searches. We received a call from ROI and they really seemed to know what they were talking about so I did a bit more of my own research and decided to go with ROI,” Stephen recalled.

The approach to Bayside’s online marketing strategy started with Google Maps optimisation midway through 2009. After improved and consistent traffic flow to the website the strategy was revisited a year later with a view to further improving the level of qualified traffic to the site.

“We weren’t featuring at all on the front pages of Google but the map put us on the first page for a few search terms and then the SEO campaign has taken us onto the front page for many more things.”

“We now get internet enquiries every day where we used to get maybe one a week”

The renewed focus centred added a focused search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign centred on key search phrases related to English language schools and courses in Melbourne. This approach has delivered a positive impact, directing significantly more enquiries to Bayside, as Stephen explained.

“We’re now getting far more internet enquiries. We weren’t featuring at all on the front pages of Google but the map put us on the first page for a few search terms and then the SEO campaign has taken us onto the front page for many more things. We now get internet enquiries every day where we used to get maybe one a week,” he noted.

“Now we are getting consistently high figures. It’s been a positive decision for us (hiring ROI), they are very professional – they get back to you when they say they will and I feel like I am getting advice that is relevant. It has had a positive impact on the business.”

Bayside’s SEO strategy is just four months old and is already showing promise. ROI’s dedicated approach will ensure continuous improvements are delivered for Stephen and Sarah in 2011 and hopefully for many years to come.
