Q. How do the different Google networks work?
A. Google comprises three distinct networks: Google Search, Search Partners and Display Network (which gives the option of managed or automatic ad placements).
Google Search refers specifically to when you visit the Google domain, compared to Search Partners, which includes websites that have a Google Search engine integrated into their site. The Display Network is completely different, relating solely to individual websites that use AdSense, Google’s advertising.
The Display Network options are vital to understand – we recommend using Managed Placements as you can search for particular subjects of relevance to your ads. Our series of articles will continue by discussing the problems and benefits of the different networks.
