Yahoo!7 Makes Australia Alliance with Google
Bye bye Bing. Yahoo!7 have announced it will not be including Australian search in its 10 year deal with Microsoft and have chosen to partner with Google to power their search down under. Due to Yahoo!7 being a joint venture in Australia between Seven West Media it is not legally bound by the global agreement.
So, what does this mean for the world of digital marketing? Well for any business running an Adwords campaign, the answer is there will likely be some sort of impact. Unfortunately at this early stage we don’t know what.
The effect on CPC and conversion rates will become clearer as we receive more information on the details of the agreement and clarity around the demographics that use Yahoo!7 vs. Google Adwords.
