Google Australia, online marketing company roi.com.au and e-commerce provider Open Store will present a free seminar in Melbourne next week on how retail stores can grow their business online. The seminar, which will take place at the Como in South Yarra on 25 July, aims to outline how quick and easy it is for businesses to get started online.
More and more people are researching and buying online
Today, a majority of Australian consumers are regularly using online sources as a primary channel for shopping and product research, with ACMA reporting 6 in 10 adults made a purchase online in the last 6 months. Lower overheads and better customer reach is prompting many business owners to explore the possibilities online,
“You can set up your own eCommerce store for less than $500 and can have it up and running in just one weekend,” roi.com.au Director Ewan Watt explains.
“Then, through online marketing, you are able to get your business worldwide exposure 24/7. It’s like having a salesman working around the clock.”
If you think setting up an online store is hard, you’re wrong
The common concern business owners have is that starting an online store will be far more difficult than running a traditional retail store. It’s this conception that Watt, Open Store CEO Anoosh Manzoori and Google’s Michael Salmon are looking to change during their ‘Thrive Online’ seminar,
“We’re aiming to educate people on what their options are so they can make an informed decision on whether eCommerce is right for them,” Watt explains.
“Never before has this type of information been available all in the one place, making it a great forum for business owners to ask questions and get in the know.”
