What is the optimum word count for SEO?

Q. How many words should you have on a page for SEO?

A. There is no correct word count a webpage should have to determine its ranking in the Google search results. It is very important for people to think about the quality of the content on the page and to optimize always with the searcher or visitor in mind. Content needs to be structured so that it is easy to consume for readers, making use of headings, lists, paragraphs and other formatting options where appropriate.

Write as little or as much information needed to get across your message or idea. Try to include your important words with a good mixture of variations and achieve your keyword density in the most natural way possible. Make sure not to ‘spam’ your targeted key phrases, Google has a very advanced algorithm and can pick up on these things, giving them a reason not to rank your website. A website should be as long as it takes to get the message across, therefore there is no optimum number of words that should be on a page, content online is now about quality – not quantity!
